Performance criteria

In assessing your performance at each stage of the competition, judges consider the following criteria:

• Vocal ability and musical quality
• Structure and composition of the song
• Ability to capture the audience's attention and connect with them
• The personality and originality of the performance
• Memorability of voice and song choice
• Original and engaging presentation of selected songs
• Stage presence - an entertaining and memorable performance
• Presentation and star quality

Songwriter criteria

In assessing your performance at each stage of the competition, judges consider the following criteria:

• Originality
• The story behind the song
• Creative and engaging composition of both lyrics and melody
• The song's potential to engage with the audience
• Structure of the song and its potential to be interpreted and performed by professional musicians
