Telstra has been nurturing young ballet talent through the Telstra Ballet Dancer Awards since 2003. The award was conceived to support the aspirations of The Australian Ballet’s elite young dancers. It’s the highest accolade of its kind available to an Australian dancer with a cash prize of $20,000 to the winner.
Nominees are selected by The Australian Ballet and previous Telstra Ballet Dancer Award winners. Nominees are judged on the artistic quality of their work, the strength of a written submission, their personal development and future potential.
The Telstra People's Choice Award recognises the most popular dancer that has been nominated for the prestigious Telstra Ballet Dancer Award. The winner of the People’s Choice will receive a cash prize of $5,000.
Talent, hard work and a passion for the magic of dance have seen all six nominees make their mark in a highly competitive and demanding arena.
