More than $1 million in special equipment grants will be made available through the Telstra Assistance Fund to communities affected by the devastating floods in Queensland, Victoria and New South Wales!

Telstra Chief Executive Officer David Thodey has announced the special focus of the Telstra Assistance Fund this year is designed to help sports and recreation clubs in the flood affected regions recover, rebuild and get back on their feet.


Telstra Assistance Fund grants are available to the following clubs/groups in flood affected regions:


•     rugby league
•     Australian rules football
•     netball
•     surf life saving clubs
•     community dance; and,
•     community music groups 


Grants provide equipment packages tailored to each sport or recreation, from tackle pads and match balls for footy clubs, amplifiers and guitars for music groups to boards and first aid kits for surf life saving clubs.


Telstra proudly supports a diverse range of community organisations, whether it's nurturing our stars of the future or sponsoring them at an elite level.
Eligible clubs* and groups can apply for grants between early May and 30 June 2011. Approved clubs will receive their equipment by the end of August 2011.


By special arrangement, the 2011 Telstra Assistance Fund is open to eligible clubs in flood affected areas in Queensland, New South Wales and Victoria ONLY for this round of grants. Clubs outside those areas are invited to apply for the next round of grants in 2012.
